Vessels carry wheeled cargo, such as cars that are driven on and off the ship on their wheels.

It carries automobiles, trucks, buses, and even heavy equipment such as trailers, cranes, and excavators.

It is the safest and low-cost way of shipping.

Container

We ship cars by container to countries where there is no Ro-Ro shipment.

We can put 3-5 cars in a container.

JAAI (JAPAN AUTO APPRAISAL INSTITUTE):

JAAI – Japan Auto Appraisal Institute is one of the most trusted inspection agencies for used Japanese vehicles. JAAI has a wide inspection network spread all over Japan and has inspected more than 1.8 million used cars exported from Japan. JAAI has gained recognition of a number of countries importing used automobiles from Japan. JAAI was established in 1966 and was approved by two relevant ministries, Ministry of International Trade & Industry, and Ministry of Transport.

RECOMMENDED COUNTRIES FOR JEVIC INSPECTION:

Mozambique, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka

JAAI inspection takes the following aspects into account:

  • The functionality of the Vehicle: To ensure safe driving in accordance with safety regulations
  • Engine and Area under the Body: Must be cleanly washed. Rusted parts have to be painted with chassis black.
  • Interior Condition and Appearance: Only tidy and unstained interior will be cleared. The damaged area on seats, ceiling, etc. must not be more than 10cm for passenger cars and not more than 30cm for commercial and freight vehicles. (Adhesive tapes for repair are not accepted)
  • Odometer: Odometer of the vehicle must not be tampered or replaced. If Odometer certificate is required, inspection will be carried out using Individual Odometer Search System by NAK.
  • Exterior Condition and Appearance: Corroded parts have to be repaired, rusted or exposed surfaces must be painted. The bumps on the car’s surface requiring panel work that extend over a quarter of the affected panel have to be repaired.
  • Tires: Tires must be in accordance with the safety regulations.
  • Windshield: No cracks or breakage of more than 1 cm. Scratches from viper blades should not hamper the visibility.
  • Country Specific Inspection: The items of the inspection may vary depending upon the importing country.

Mozambique

Intertek provides the services of PSI (Pre-Shipment Inspection) for the import and export of used vehicles and makes sure that the car is in good shape as required by the importing country. Intertek vehicle inspection includes:

  • PHYSICAL INSPECTION. Physical Inspection before shipping, determining the nature of goods.
  • DOCUMENTS CHECK. Scrutiny of documents to ensure accurate valuation and customs tariff code as per the regulations of importing countries.
  • DELIVERY OF CERTIFICATE. The certification is delivered to the importer, which can be used for clearance from the customs and to estimate the duties before the clearance.
